20 gennaio Minnesota Style Winter or how to Hibernate ProperlyWell it was dang cold this morning. I am not sure the absolute low but at 8:00 AM the computer weather master reporter said -18 degrees F. F is correct. So what did I do? I followed through on breakfast plans with the ladies. Libby has remote start on her car otherwise I would not have gone. I am a freeze baby. Born in January in Minnesota and have regretted it ever since. I should have crawled south when I had the chance. I will have to ask the ladies if it is alright to call ourselves the "Jaded Ladies" club. We are not truly jaded but it sounds like a conversation starter any way. So I am tired of doing homework & thought I would work on some 2008 updates here.
I did speak with a fellow student in the Ukraine today though. That is somewhere between Germany & Russia. Nothing else too exciting about that. I just thought I would mention I am getting more worldly in my contacts.
In american style I had emailed those whose photos I have posted to get their permission. I am now guilty of being what I least like...a proponent of the "opt out" feature. I really must work on that. At any rate...I have had no one ask to be removed but instead received some more photos to post.
I will have to check with Char and see how her party went last night. It was too cold for me to make the drive...I am sure she had a great time and a house full.
I wonder if I should try to start the car at all....hmmmm? I am going to try car pooling with Libby this week. We will see how that goes.
So my top tips for hibernating are:
1) Make friends with someone who has a fireplace
2) Have someone you can cuddle with or a darn nice blanket to crawl under
3) Hot water for a warm cup of whatever you like...
4) A really good book and some background music
5) A really good movie to watch & some popcorn
6) Just party anyhow...heated garage helps (Chars suggestion)
7) Fly way south...
8) Have really warm socks
9) Phone a friend
