Been a while

Wow it has been awhile since I last wrote. Not too much out of the ordinary has been going on at work or at home. Spring is trying to arrive and we finally have some flowers in bloom and leaves on the trees. A bunch of hail passed through yesterday and brought down a lot of those new leaves but it looks like the plants should recover. The town of Coon Rapids and Hugo were not so fortunate as a tornado left a path of destruction.
I am back in the school mode again and that is consuming a bit of my free time. Soon I will be taking the summer off and working on losing some dead weight. Coco is doing well and I will have her write again this summer. Brandon is looking forward to schools end. It was a long winter here indeed.

I did have a bit of an adventure with my friend Bill not so long ago. In fact it occured on Sunday May 18th while out for a biking adventure. We toured the country side up around Monticello, Annandale and had the pleasure of happening upon the first of many celebrations for French Lake, Minnesota's 100th anniversary (1908 - 2008). French Lake township is nestled in the heart of fabulous Wright County Minnesota.
The area has beautiful Lakes available to the locals as well as fishing enthusiasts. This small rural community with slow rolling terrain welcomed Bill & I into their celebration which was held at the four corners service station. We were able to catch views of the lake, the old school house, and the abandoned town store.
Inside the service station we were able to choose from a wide variety of local fare...beef jerkey and beef sticks caught Bill and my eyes. The flavors we selected were certainly a hit and worth going back for. While enjoying our local fare we took the opportunity to fraternize with the local celebrants. The most popular mode of transporation among the locals were other motor bikes. We had the pleasure of meeting the descendant of one of the towns founders. This industrious young man had ridden his circa 1962 motor bike which had been passed from generation to generation.

The celebration ended when the locals who had gathered rode off with a smile and friendly waves. It was time for Bill and I to make our return trip. The experience I had that day will forever be fixed in mind. For that I must thank the Township of French Lake & my friend Bill.

TTFN,
Sharon
