23 novembre Black Friday 2007I am back on Black Friday 2007...it is about 8:00 AM right now. Why do I care what the time is? Because my Drs. Office opens at 8:00 and not two minutes before for cryin out loud. So what is my issue you ask? I think I have an ulcer or something...it couldn't be a tape worm because there is no great hunger with weight loss going on. No, it is like having a great burning sensation that has nothing to do with Love...planted in my gut.
OK enough whining I have an apointment this afternoon and will know soon enough. So since I last wrote...work has gone through the lay off period and I still have job! Yeah for me! I do have many friends who do not..it was very stressful to go through and the effects will last for awhile...hence the ulcer probably.
So yesterday was Thanksgiving at Sister Mary's and it was a great feast indeed. I ate plenty in spite of how I felt because I am tough or just a plain glutton who loves what Turkey day offers and felt it was worth the pain. How is that for a run on sentence?
I must also admit that I had a very hard time driving on 494 yesterday and broke down in front of my son while trying to drive. It's OK now but I was flooded with thoughts of Thanksgiving past 2006 visiting Mom in the nursing home while she had her very last Thanksgiving feast on this planet. I am so glad that I was there with her on that day. We lost her on November 27th 2006....well we did not lose her...that is such a strange thing to say when someone has died. It makes it sound as though you will find them again...I doubt my mother thinks she is lost. Whew...one could ponder that stuff for a life time.
So anyhow I will post some great pictures from yesterday.
So I got up at 3:00 AM this morning for some holiday shopping madness...I was hell bent for JCPenney and the great doorbuster sale on ipods and some new pots and pans. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME and out with the old wedding revere ware that now rocks on the stove top. That is not a good thing by the way...pans that rock on the stove top. It was great...I was in & out of JC Penney within 15 minutes with my new pots and pans and then went back for the ipods...dang it..they were all gone! I ended up with a (secret item) and some reed diffusers...I hope they were worth it because by then the lines were really long. The commentary of people in those lines is usually pretty good though. There is really a lot of heroism in those black friday shoppers. One lady had been at Albertville Mall at 12:00...I was originally going to do that but I decided that sleep was more for me. I am running on about five hours right now. So anyway...the Albertville lady told of a rediculous wait in traffic to get her one treasured item out there and then her heroic act to get the hell out. Her daughter was driving and she had to get out and stop traffic so they could cut across and through crazed new shopper arrivals. After I heard her tale...I knew I had made the right decision to sleep.
So after I was finished scoring my JCPenney deals I drove home and dropped them off. I then was headed for Menards...my second chance at an ipod deal....well HELL NO! I quickly surmized that a bagel from Panera Bread was a much better option. So I got my bakers dozen and headed for Walmart. They had been open for about 1.5 hours already and it was such a pleasure while I was there (they must have a good clean up crew because all of the blood was cleaned from the aisles) that I picked up some bread, egg nog, milk, and peanut butter along with some leftover hot deals that I am certain I can live without but they were a deal don't ya know and will make the stockings look great.
Well that is about all on the shopping subject....except that I credit my very best friend Char with teaching me how to shop with humor on black friday. I still do not have her stamina though...I will have to find out who she shopped with this year.
Oh I can not forget to tell you all about my new Cat....her name is Coco. I will post her picture as well. She got to have friskies turkey and giblets for her turkey day feast. She is just great but my camera has trouble homing in on her...it must be her color or something.
So she is really something as well....I am usually allergic to cats but she is a Devon Rex variety and I am having very little trouble with her. The eyes do get a little itchy at times. So any how I got her from...hmmm she needs her own entry I think.
Bye!
Oh please forgive spelling and spacing...I have this crazy Microsoft key board that does not behave well at all. I imagine it to have its own signaturelike typewriters from way back in the day that did goofy things were certain letters...like typed them a bit above the other letters or made a hole in the paper or something. |
